Meet Kamie

2023 began with a new part-time Ruth Snyder Home Manager who oversees home operations. Meet Kamie Gouveia. She has already demonstrated that she is highly motivated to serve and support women returning to the Charlotte Community. Her lived experience, attention to detail and problem-solving skills make her an outstanding addition to the Changed Choices staff. Kamie is employed full-time at Dove’s Nest.
Meet Olaniyi

Olaniyi Zainabu has a wealth of knowledge in the Workforce Development field as a Career Readiness Facilitator and Case Manager, and has engaged with several re-entry organizations, such as Changed Choices, in Charlotte for the last 10 years. “Miss O” as she is affectionately called, has been a Changed Choices volunteer serving in multiple roles, and aims to help people realized their value as they engage in society. Now on staff as a Change Coach, Olaniyi will be able to impact even more women, using her creativity as well as showcasing the ‘Sisters By Design‘ podcast, created 3 years ago to capture the unique stories of our dynamic clients.
Meet Jessica

Jessica Hollis is a North Carolina native, a graduate of Rhema Bible Training Center with an emphasis in youth and music ministry, and a mother of four grown children. She is currently finishing her Bachelor of Arts in Communications as well as freelance work as an editor, writer, and artist. Jessica joined Changed Choices as a client in 2020 while incarcerated. Her incarceration awakened a deep desire to help others, especially survivors of domestic violence, those with substance abuse disorder, and the formerly incarcerated. Jessica is a member of several Re-Entry and Criminal Justice Advocacy organizations, and is now a Change Coach for both pre-release and re-entry clients with Changed Choices, where she hopes her lived experiences and skills can assist others in their own re-entry journeys.
