At the end of May, Changed Choices welcomed Susan Padgett as our Director of Programming.
Susan developed deep desire and motivation to serve her community through her parents-both community leaders in her hometown in Virginia. With over 25 years in Charlotte, she has served and led others to participate in organizations assisting people in challenging situations in healthcare, food insecurity, homelessness, education, incarceration, and more. Recently, she led an ESL Program and staff that served approximately 500 Hispanic adults per year. This joint venture between Forest Hill Church-South Boulevard and the YMCA, provided education and community resources to a variety of organizations in the Charlotte area. Committed to volunteering in community nonprofits and churches, Susan has led many groups personally and professionally for the past 30 years.
As an adult educator, she is committed to influencing life changes through courses as well as other experiences. Leading others to resources and new ideas invigorates her. As her interest in incarceration has grown over many years, she values the opportunity to serve the Changed Choices clients now.
Susan earned a BA in English and Psychology from Agnes Scott College and certifications in Teaching ESL as well as studied business at Georgia State University. She and her husband have 3 adult children.
