Last month, our staff had the opportunity to cheer for two clients continuing their education journey. Each women achieve a their goal of receiving their associate’s degree. Not only is this achievement something to celebrate, it’s an investment in their future. A Bureau of Justice Statistics study showed there is a 43% reduction in recidivism rates for those who participate in prison education programs.
- On average, 67% of released prisoners were rearrested within 3 years of release, and 76% were rearrested within 5 years.

Warren Wilson College, located near Western Correctional Center for Women, is an option for college course work for incarcerated women.
